No upload, no cloud. Only configured metadata and subtitle providers are contacted.

Frequently Asked Questions

CineRename was built from the ground up in Rust to be lightning-fast. Unlike older Java-based tools, it can process thousands of files without UI lag. We also built features that are usually missing: native ZIP/RAR extraction, an interactive visual preview, a full 'Undo' history, and multi-quality duplicate hunting.

Yes. CineRename supports anime presets with absolute episode numbering or season/episode output, plus OVA and Specials handling. For long shows where platforms disagree on seasons, you can keep absolute numbering and still fetch localized episode titles when available.

No. While we offer a yearly license for updates, we also provide a one-time 'Lifetime' payment option. We hate subscription fatigue as much as you do.

No. CineRename processes your files locally. Network requests only go to configured metadata and subtitle providers, and they contain titles, IDs, language choices, or the OpenSubtitles file fingerprint — never the video file itself.

CineRename gives you the best possible match without promising magic. It uses the OpenSubtitles file fingerprint first, then falls back to title and metadata IDs. You can preview the subtitle before downloading it, and timing tools are available if a release still needs an offset or drift adjustment.

Sonarr and Radarr are amazing for full automation, but they require significant setup (indexers, download clients). CineRename is a lightweight, standalone tool. If you have an existing messy hard drive or just want to quickly organize files without running a 24/7 server, CineRename does the job instantly via Drag & Drop.

Yes. CineRename has a lightweight headless CLI, WebUI/TUI modes and Docker packaging. On servers, use the scheduler, cron, or download-client hooks; desktop Watch Folders remain available in the GUI app.

Don't panic! CineRename tracks every operation in its History module. With a single click, you can undo a massive batch rename, and all your files will be restored to their original names and locations.

After purchase, you will immediately receive a license key by email. Simply enter it into the application to unlock the Pro version.

Why cinephiles adopt CineRename

Trusted by data hoarders and NAS admins worldwide

Switched from FileBot because of the Java memory bloat and UI lag. CineRename running on Rust is just instantaneous. The CLI handles my Sonarr post-processing like a champ.

The absolute numbering support for Anime is a godsend. It's the only renamer that didn't butcher my 900+ episode One Piece collection. Jellyfin recognized everything on the first scan.

Finally a modern UI! Most renamers look like they were built in 2005. The interactive before/after preview studio is incredibly intuitive. I know exactly what will happen before touching the disk.
