CineRename is free to download and can be used indefinitely without paying, up to a limit of 2 files renamed per day in the Studio.

Fair licensing policy
The Pro license is not tied to any mandatory subscription (although a monthly/annual option exists, the Lifetime Pro purchase is the most popular). You pay once, and the application is yours. No abusive DRM: the license is valid for 2 simultaneous devices (for example, your main PC and your NAS).
Unlocked features
1. OpenSubtitles Subtitles
The Pro version unlocks unlimited subtitle search and automation. It can search OpenSubtitles in bulk for an entire folder, preview candidates before download, and use timing tools when a subtitle needs offset or drift adjustment.
2. Duplicate Hunting
If you have multiple versions of the same movie (1080p, 4K, different encodings), the Pro Duplicates module automatically detects output name collisions and allows you to analyze, score, and clean obsolete versions with one click.
3. Auto Mode (CLI & GUI)
This is the "Holy Grail" for Plex servers. The Pro version allows using the "Pipeline" mode which chains: Renaming → Subtitles → Cleaning → Moving. This mode is usable in the software, but especially via the CLI command cinerename auto, making the software integrable into Radarr, Sonarr, or a NAS cronjob.
How to activate your license
- Go to the Pricing page and purchase the Pro version of your choice.
- You will receive a license key (managed by LemonSqueezy) via email.
- Open CineRename, go to Settings → Pro License.
- Paste your license key and click Activate.
The application will validate the key online and instantly unlock the grayed-out modules. Once validated, the application caches the validation: it will continue to work even if you lose internet (transparent periodic validation).
Frequently Asked Questions (License)
Do I lose my data if I upgrade to Pro? No, the history and the SQLite database remain exactly the same. The license simply unlocks the interface buttons.
What happens if I change my PC? You can deactivate your license on an old device via the settings, which will free up the "slot" (out of the 2 available) for your new PC. In case of a disk crash, a LemonSqueezy web panel allows you to remotely purge your activations.
